re-re-reinstalling

So, I originally put Ubuntu 6.06 (Dapper Drake) on my laptop, taking up a recovery partition. Then Edgy came out and I re-installed over the Dapper drive, figuring it would be nice to start fresh rather than upgrade. I decided to do the same thing with each upgrade; it seemed like a good habit to clear everything out twice a year (all my personal files are on a 250 gig external).

Feisty Fawn came out, and at first I just upgraded. Then yesterday I decided to re-install it entirely, wiping the partition once again, for the aforementioned reasons. Upon completion, I discovered that the wireless wasn't working. No problem, I thought, I'll just hook up a wired connection and download an update for my wireless card. But after every update was installed, the wireless still wasn't working. So, using the wired connection, I regrettably had download Dapper again, burn that to liveCD, and reinstall, once again reformatting the partition. Then I had to upgrade from Dapper to Edgy, and then from Edgy to Feisty.

But hey, the wireless works.
